Parish Appraisal
Botley Parish Appraisal was a survey in 2001 of the views and attitudes of the residents of The Parish of Botley on a wide range of issues affecting their everyday lives. It was run entirely by local people. They expressed their views at public meetings on the issues that needed to be addressed. A committee formed from their number then distilled their inputs into a questionnaire, which was distributed to all households in the parish. Subsequent analysis of the large number of completed questionnaires lead to the production of a newsletter for residents and the full report.
The Botley Parish Appraisal Report is a snapshot of the directly expressed opinions of the residents of the parish in the year 2001. It shows what they care about and what they like, and don't like, about the parish they live in. The report encapsulates the essence of what Botley residents think and feel about life in their parish, and as such should provide useful reading for those endeavouring to meet their needs or to gain their votes at election time.
You can download the newsletter or the full report, which because of its size has been broken into sections. All links open in a new page

Information & Resource Centre
Over the past few years there has been a strong demand for a location in Botley where people and visitors are able to find out many types of information both directly and through the internet about Botley itself, local government information, libraries, walks, planning details, and even burials.
The intention is to put up a new building, mainly financed by grants, which will house the 'Centre for Information' and the Parish Office. Also the building will be designed with many environmental features to minimise the 'carbon footprint', and also to show what can be done by a modest sized but very active community.
Down load the plans for the proposed Centre for Information for more details.
